Photography Policy
Our scenic farm and fields of sunflowers are a photographer's dream. We welcome all our guests to capture the beauty but we do have some guidelines we ask you to follow.
General Photography Guidelines
Please respect our fields and farm by abiding by the following rules:
Please be respectful and aware of other people and our flowers.
We allow a camera only. No lighting, ladders, props, etc.
Stay on the paths. No picture is worth damaging the field for others.
Stay off all farm equipment including and not limited to tractors, etc.
Do not enter neighboring fields. Do not open any gates. Do not climb on our historic stonewalls.
Park in designated parking area only.
No climbing trees.
Only the sunflower fields are open to the public. No other fields, barns, or other parts of the farm are open to the public.
We expect all visitors to be respectful of our farm, our animals and our fields at all times.
Anyone not abiding by any portion of this policy will be asked to leave the farm immediately.

Professional Photography Guidelines
Our 14 acres of sunflowers grown for charity provide a breathtaking backdrop for photographers of all types – from smartphone users to professionals. All are welcome to visit the farm, enjoy the scenery, and take pictures, but we do require a site fee, which is donated in its entirety to Make-A-Wish of CT, for professional photo-shoots or anything for monetary gain. These include engagement, wedding, family, senior portraits etc. Because this a fundraising charity event, ticket sales are only allowed through the Make-A-Wish eventbrite page (link below), no other outside ticket sales are permitted.
You need to pay a site fee for you and your client(s) to enter the field as a professional photographer. See details below.
Photo shoots are available during event hours only. Please do not enter the fields before or after hours.
You are required to purchase the site fee for your clients. It is the photographer's responsibility to email and schedule for their clients.
A site fee is required. The fee is $75 donation to Make A Wish per client. You have access to the field during business hours only- not before or after hours. The event hours are daily from 10am until dark.
Site fees are non-refundable.
Site fee reservations are good for any day during the event. These fees are donated to Make-A-Wish of CT and are not for Buttonwood Farm profit.
No photography equipment except camera bag/lenses. No large equipment or light stands, etc.
No ladders, or step stools of any kind.
No areas of the field may closed or blocked off from other guests.
